Buyers

The Guernsey Auction House holds online timed auctions through the Easy Live Auction platform.

How do you bid for a Lot?
To bid on a Lot at The Guernsey Auction House auction you will need to create an account with Easy Live Auction at www.easyliveauction.com. There is no cost to create an account; you will only incur costs at an online timed auction if you register to bid and your bid is successful. Please do not bid if you are unable to purchase the item.

Once you have created an Easy Live Auction account you simply need to click on the ‘Register to Bid’ Link. This will take you to a registration page where you:

  1. Sign into your Easy Live Auction Account;
  2. Verify your details;
  3. Add a bank card;

The Easy Live Auction platform offers an Autobid system which allows their system to bid on your behalf up to any maximum bid you specify. You are also able to leave a ‘+1’ with your Autobid. This will allow their system to bid one more increment if you are outbid on your maximum amount. If you decide to increase your maximum bid you can increase this at any time or even manually bid up until the auction closes; whatever your preference.

If a bid is placed on a Lot during the last 5 minutes of when the auction period is due to end, the Easy Live Auctions system will automatically extend the bidding period by a further 5 minutes to avoid ‘bid sniping’.

Timed Auctions enable bidders to bid in the comfort of their own home.

How will I know if my bid is successful?

The Guernsey Auction House will contact you by email with details of your winning Lots together with an invoice.

As soon as you have paid the invoice, arrangements can be made for you to collect your Lots.

Please do not bid unless you have the funds to pay.

What if I am unable to collect my lots?

Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss and we will arrange a delivery service for an additional charge.

I don’t live in Guernsey; can you ship the item to me?

Please note that, unless specifically agreed by us in writing and in advance of the end of the Auction, we do not offer postal or shipping services for Lots.

If we do agree to post and ship items there will be an additional charge.

VAT and Export

Please note that a Lot may be subject to:

  • export restrictions
  • CITES regulations

It is important that you investigate the restrictions, regulations and taxes before bidding to ensure you are able to comply and where necessary pay these.
